Cascade Brewing

Cascade Brewing, the forward thinking, barrel blending wizards who created their own style of sour beers (Northwest Sour Ales) have always been one of our favorites here at The Owl Farm. We take a yearly trip to Portland and we usually go straight to their tasting room as soon as we unload our bags. Previously, they've only been available in NYC in limited amounts, and only in bottles. We're pleased to announce that they have sent a small drop of kegs to the city and we'll be tapping 3 of them on Tuesday night, May 24th. We'll also be pouring several Cascade bottles by the glass. Don't miss this. Drafts will be tapped at 2pm. Bottle pours will start at 7pm, and are first come first serve.

Rodenbach Tasting

Rodenbach Tasting

For many of us working in the beer world, Rodenchbach was our gateway to places beyond the planes of macro American lagers. Or maybe we'd already ventured into the world of Belgian beers, and then someone said "Have you ever tried a sour beer?" Then they opened a Rodenbach and poured it in our glass. Our lives would never be the same.

Here at The Owl Farm, we're always looking for new and exciting beers to try. And we now have countless sour beers available at our fingertips. But we also like to pause and pay homage to our craft beer elders from time to time. Join us on Tuesday night, April 26th as we taste through 3 different draft versions of Rodenbach and revist one of our beer heros.

Captain Lawrence & Other Half

New York State stalwarts Captain Lawrence Brewing Company square off against young upstarts Other Half Brewing Company.

Since 2005 Captain Lawrence has been brewing fantastic beers under the guidance of brewmaster Scott Vaccaro: from everyday classics like their Kolsch, to rare offerings like Hudson Valley Harvest brewed in cooperation with Stone Barns. They're only 11 years old, but they've been a major influence on every New York brewery that has emerged in the last 10 years.

Other Half is only 2 years old, but they've quickly become critical and popular darlings with their range of fresh hoppy beers, unlikely collaborations, and now they've been branching into foudre fermented and brettanomyces fermented beers. Sam Richardson and Matt Monahan have big plans for the brewery, with an expansion of their Gowanus space forthcoming.

Beer List:
Captain Lawrence Freshchester Pale Ale
Captain Lawrence Frost Monster
Captain Lawrence Hopsomniac
Captain Lawrence Hudson Valley Harvest: Sour Strawberry - Bottle Pour
Captain Lawrence Liquid Gold
Captain Lawrence Meltwater IPL

Other Half + Barrier: Make it Rain
Other Half + Burial: Diamond Mausoleum
